About the AFEFF

about the AFEFF
The Asheville Food & Environmental Film Festival (AFEFF) is a platform for educating and inspiring people to action through film and community participation. The AFEFF screens festival films that are not otherwise available, sharing a current and fresh stream of information. The films of the AFEFF are primarily pointing at solutions and how our simple daily choices affect our health and the environment.

Mission
The AFEFF serves to provide solutions for individuals and organizations through inspiration and collaboration. There are many organizations and individuals in our region making efforts that are improving our local food systems, local environment, and our local economy.  Every place on the planet has room to grow. The collaborative effort of individuals and organizations is key to any community, as it takes everyone's participation to create a successful ecosystem.  Since our ecosystems have no borders, the films screened include international films and often show the global impact of our local decisions.
The AFEFF will serve as a platform to display community organizations and individuals contributing to solutions, fostering collaboration through an annual community project and by offering opportunity for individuals not involved to join projects that are already in place. Attendees are to be inspired to take action in innovative ways through examples provided in the films, even if it is simply the awareness of a daily choice that can make a difference.

Vision
The vision for the AFEFF is to serve as an integral part of the sustainability growth of our region, assisting in the growth of community organizations by way of cooperative effort and through added support and participation. The AFEFF is to become an inspiration that showcases sustainable models to attendees from cities worldwide.
